Getting Started at RIT for New Adjuncts

Welcome to RIT!  As an adjunct instructor you are not just teaching a course, you are joining RIT’s community of teaching and learning excellence. The resources provided here will help you become acclimated to the university’s programs and services. In addition to the resources provided here specifically for adjuncts, we encourage you to take a look around at the collection of resources curated for our new full-time faculty. The list below is intended as a guide to ensure a successful teaching experience for you and your students.

Your contract letter contains important information about Payroll, University Policies, RIT's mandatory compliance training requirements, and more.

Key Resources

CTL partners with all faculty to improve and expand their students’ learning experience with on-campus, online, and blended courses. CTL supports faculty in designing courses, using academic technologies, developing media, and using classroom technology.

Training, Events, and Networking

Adjunct instructors are welcome at some training, events, and networking opportunities throughout the academic year that pertain to all RIT faculty. These events allow adjuncts to network and share conversation around teaching in today’s classroom, learn about the many RIT resources available, and provide guidance and support to assist you when you have concerns or challenges. The Center for Teaching and Learning, RIT Libraries, Faculty Career Development, and many other areas on campus offer such activities.
