Update: All Clear at Colony Manor

9:40 a.m. May 21 update:

The Monroe County Hazmat team overnight thoroughly checked the unoccupied apartment at 80 Colony Manor. Nothing was found that would have caused someone to become ill. The apartment at 80 Colony Manor will remain closed until all personal belongings are removed and the apartment cleaned. The Colony Manor apartment complex is open to residents.

9:30 p.m. May 20:

The Henrietta Fire Department and Monroe County HazMat responded Monday night to an apartment located at 80 Colony Manor Drive on the RIT campus. The investigation is tied to a student who became ill and is being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital. Authorities are investigating materials that the student brought into the apartment. There are no other injuries related to the incident, and the complex was not evacuated. The investigation will continue.
