Copyright Infringement

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has designated an agent to respond to alleged copyright infringements on RIT domain (rit.edu).

Any allegations of copyright infringement on an RIT website should be sent to RIT’s designated DMCA Agent listed below. All infringement claims must be in writing (either e-mail or paper letter) and must include the following elements:

  1. The signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are on a single site, a representative list of such works;
  3. Identification of the infringing material or activity (or the reference or link to such material) and information reasonably sufficient to permit the RIT to locate the material (or the reference or link);
  4. Contact information for the copyright owner or authorized agent;
  5. A statement that the person sending the notice has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the person sending the notice is authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
