Overview
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology prepares students for successful careers in industry or academia by providing a foundation of engineering theory through application-based instruction.
A laboratory- and project-intensive curriculum, taught by faculty dedicated to teaching and having a background in industry, offers students an engineering education rich in experiential learning. Co-op, study abroad, research opportunities, industrial connections, and modern facilities further enhance this relevant and engaging educational experience.
The department fosters a culture of support and nurtures the academic and professional growth of each student. Caring faculty and small class sizes ensure close student-faculty interactions and student-student collaborations.

Undergraduate Programs
ECET offers two Bachelor of Science degrees: computer engineering technology and electrical engineering technology. Both are five-year programs, which include a full year of cooperative work experience. For students wanting to specialize their area of study, options are offered in audio, telecommunications, and power and energy. Each option consists of four elective courses.

ECET offers one Master of Science degree in network communications. This program prepares graduates with advanced knowledge of the engineering aspects of emerging technologies and the policy/regulatory environment in which they are offered.
In cooperation with the Department of Computer Science, an accelerated degree option combining a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering technology and an MS in computer science is also available.
In this communication networks degree, you’ll become an expert in fiber-optic and photonic communications, wireless communications, and network design and management as you lead the ever-changing telecommunications industry.
