Imagine a World of Healthy Relationships...

RIT/NTID attracts students from all over America and the world. We have people from different backgrounds, cultures, experiences and world views. Part of human nature is to connect and develop relationships. Some are friendships, working colleagues or romantic partners. Dating is the experience many people go through – but statistics show that nearly 1 in 3 women (29%) say that they’ve been in an abusive dating relationship. 52% of college women report knowing a friend who’s experienced violent and abusive dating behaviors, including physical, sexual, digital, verbal, or other controlling abuse. Let’s continue the conversation about what it means to have a healthy relationship. We also want to inform/share and talk about how to support others and where to go for support/help, if needed. We must continue to bring awareness and continue to have conversations. Unhealthy relationships must be stopped, addressed and support people who are causing harm to others. *we want to focus on positive relationship building but at the same time, if necessary, share with community members who approach the table, needing support/resources – that it is readily available for them.
