Q: What is Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival?
A: The Imagine RIT Festival exposes thousands of people to hundreds of examples of student, faculty and staff creativity and innovation. Imagine RIT showcases new ideas for products and services, creative artistry, faculty and student research, plus carnival rides and inflatables for the kids.
Q: What kind of exhibits will be at the festival?
A: Check out descriptions of the more than 400 interactive exhibits and displays that were part of the inaugural Imagine RIT Festival.
Check back for an updated list of exhibits and descriptions for the second Imagine RIT Festival, which takes place May 2, 2009.
Q: Where will the festival be held?
A: The festival will be held throughout the RIT campus in Henrietta. Some of our larger exhibits involving multidisciplinary projects will be on display at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Exhibits will be located inside and outside, including at all eight of RIT’s colleges. Stay tuned for details, including a map with exhibits, as we get closer to May 2.
Q: Who can attend?
A: This hotbed of innovation and creativity is free and open to the general public. More than 30,000 of our 100,000 alumni live in Greater Rochester, and many more live within a few hours’ drive of RIT. RIT has changed dramatically over the years.
We also urge prospective students and their parents to attend, as well as current students and their families.
And of course, the general public is more than welcome to attend. We urge you all to bring your families and invite your friends, rain or shine!
Q: How much will it cost?
A: Admittance to the festival is FREE! But bring some spending money for food tents and arts and crafts that will be on sale.
Q: How can I get more information on the festival?
A: The best way to get more information about the festival at this point is to use the form on the Contact Us page.
Q: Who is organizing the festival?
A: There are a number of people across the RIT campus who are working to make the festival a success. For a complete list of Imagine RIT organizers and their contact information, see the Organizers page.
