The Rochester Institute of Technology chapter of Phi Kappa Phi is committed to academic excellence. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective multidisciplinary collegiate honor society. It takes its letters from the Greek words forming its motto, Philosophía Krateítõ Phõtôn, “Let the love of learning rule humanity.”

Membership

Membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is earned, and admission is by invitation only.
Juniors must have completed at least 72 credit hours, with at least 24 semester hours at their current institution, and rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class. Seniors must have completed at least 90 credit hours, with at least 24 semester hours at their current institution, and rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Graduate students must have completed at least 18 graduate hours or the equivalent at their institution and rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who achieve scholarly distinction may also be eligible. Think you meet the above criteria and have not been invited to membership? History

Established at the University of Maine in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society. Since its inception, more than one million members have been inducted at more than 300 campuses in the United States and the Philippines. The Rochester Institute of Technology chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was established in 1970. The honor society is dedicated to recognizing and promoting academic excellence and integrity in all fields of higher education.

Membership Benefits

The Society has a long history of supporting the educational pursuits of its members. Members are eligible to apply for $1 million in awards each year, ranging from fellowships up to $35,000 to $1,000 study abroad grants to $500 Love of Learning grants. Beyond the recognition and award opportunities available to active members, the Society offers numerous benefits and resources to assist members throughout their academic and professional lives. Active members also receive the quarterly publication of the ΦΚΦ Forum. They can access exclusive discounts from more than 25 corporate partners and can take advantage of exclusive career and internship resources. The Society's global focus allows members to access networking opportunities available in every corner of the world.
