Other Degree Granting Units
Nastaran Naghshineh holds a BSc degree in Electronics Engineering from Simon Fraser University, Canada. She also holds MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from RIT-Dubai and Applied and Computational Mathematics from RIT-New York.
Naghshineh is currently a faculty member at the Department of Mathematics and Sciences at RIT-Dubai. She is also a PhD candidate in Mathematical Modeling program at RIT-New York, and will be graduating in May 2024.
Her main area of research is on fluid dynamics of liquid films. In her research, she has focused on the use of asymptotically motivated gauge functions to obtain convergent power series solutions to nonlinear ordinary differentials equations. Her most recent work is about examining three classical nonlinear ordinary differential equations arising in fluid mechanics that are mathematically related by their large-distance asymptotic behaviors in semi-infinite domains. The first two problems are about the meniscus formed on a flat wall and outside of a circular wall. The third problem focuses on Sakiadis boundary layer problem for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. Her research also develops a methodology for solving an unknown parameter and multiple unknown parameters in a way that is analogous to numerical shooting method. These three problems led to peer-review publications in IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics of Fluids in 2023 and 2024.
