  • RIT'S REACCREDITATION PROCESS HAS BEGUN
    • In the fall of 2023, RIT began embarking on a university-wide self-study effort in pursuit of re-accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) in Spring 2026. Our previous re-accreditation was approved in 2017.

  • UPDATED GUIDANCE FROM NYSED REGARDING LAS/GE CREDITS - 10/2022
    • NYSED recently clarified a policy intended to standardize the required number of Liberal Arts and Sciences (GE) credits for a particular degree when a proposed program includes more than the minimum number of required credits for the degree award. Going forward, programs will include GE credits as a proportion of the minimum required for the degree award. For example, any B.S. program needs 60 credits of GE, even if it requires more than 120 credits to complete. See the required number of GE credits for all degree types.

    • The NYS Education Department is extending the current distance education flexibility until the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.
