Osher at RIT hosts preview session
News classes available for Greater Rochester area thinkers ages 50 and beyond
Curious minds will find a number of fascinating programs at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Rochester Institute of Technology during their sneak peek of spring classes for thinkers ages 50 and beyond.
A preview session for interested Greater Rochester area participants will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 21 at the Athenaeum Building, 50 Fairwood Drive.
Enhancing their primary program, Osher is introducing new courses varying from “Creative Journaling” to “Space, Time, and Existence: Newton to Einstein.” Other new classes include “A Brief History of the Middle East,” “Law 101,” “The Origin of Species,” “Spanish Composition and Conversation,” “Hollywood Goes to War: WWII” and a course on “Mt. Hope: Cemetery of American Union,” which includes a field trip to the popular Rochester landmark.
Following the preview, attendees can tour the facility; meet with course leaders, current members and staff; and receive help with the registration process for the spring 2016 term, which runs April 4 through June 13. Light refreshments will be served.
Other perks in Osher membership include lectures and social events, travel, tours, field trips, an RIT Student Identification card to use at campus events and access to audiology services at RIT’s libraries. More information about full membership and benefits can be found at rit.edu/osher.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Rochester Institute of Technology is a membership-led organization that stimulates minds and forges friendships among people ages 50 and older who live in Greater Rochester. The organization was founded in 1987 as The Athenaeum, an affiliate of RIT. In 2006, it became an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, joining a growing national network of more than 100 university-based centers.
