Osher at RIT previews winter term classes Dec. 10
Thinkers ages 50 and beyond are welcome to join member-led organization
Curious minds will gather for new classes this winter at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Osher is holding a preview session of winter classes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Athenaeum Building, 50 Fairwood Drive, Henrietta.
Thinkers age 50 and beyond who live in the Greater Rochester area will be able to explore more than 35 courses and programs ranging from literature and film to science and technology, this winter at the lifelong learning institute.
The preview will introduce attendees to the center and provide highlights from a few of the winter courses, including new courses “The History of Canada” and “The Ancient Civilization of Mesoamerica.” Other classes include “I Know It’s A Great Film, But I’m Not Sure I Like It,” “Poetry Boot Camp” and “The Ocean Planet.”
Following the preview, attendees can tour the facility; meet with course leaders, current members and staff; and receive help with the registration process for the winter 2016 term, which runs Jan. 4 through March 17. Light refreshments will be served.
Other perks in Osher membership include lectures and social events, travel, tours, field trips, an RIT Student Identification card to use at campus events and access to audiology services at RIT’s libraries. More information about full membership and benefits can be found at rit.edu/osher.
Reservations for the Dec. 10 preview session are encouraged. Call 585-292-8989 to reserve a spot or email osher@rit.edu.
