Gordon Field House and Activities Center Policies

Policies are subject to change based on the event being held within the Gordon Field House and Activities Center.
Accessibility
The information contained in this guide highlights some of the features available at the Gordon Field House and Activities Center for guests with disabilities as set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessible Seating
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center offers accessible and companion seating on the Mezzanine and Event Levels for all events (accessible seating locations are subject to change based on the seating configuration for various events). Please contact the Gordon Field House and Activities Center Box Office at (585) 475-4121 to order your tickets so that we can best accommodate your needs.
Alcohol
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages into the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. No consumption of alcoholic beverages in the parking lot or in parked vehicles.
Animals
Animals are not permitted inside the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Exceptions include service animals such as guide, sign, and signal dogs to aide guests with disabilities.
Assisted Listening Devices
Assisted Listening Devices are free of charge and available for all events from the Box Office, located in the Northwest corner of the Gordon Field House and Activities Center on the Mezzanine Level. For security purposes, a valid driver’s license or major credit card is required and will be returned when the listening device(s) is returned to the Box Office.
Attire
A shirt and shoes are required at all times. Metal spikes or cleats are prohibited on the main floor.
Bicycles and Skateboards
Bicycles, skateboards, and rollerblades are prohibited in and around the facility.
Cameras/Recording Equipment
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center’s policy on cameras and recording equipment varies by event. In general, flash photography is prohibited at all events. RIT’s Public Safety and Gordon Field House and Activities Center personnel reserve the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera or recording equipment it deems unacceptable. Drop-Off Location/ Building Entrance
The accessible drop-off location is located on the Ground/Event Level at the Northwest corner of the building (near parking lot D). For access during non-event hours, please press the call button, speak to the building staff, and they will grant you access.
Elevator
An elevator is located just inside the entrance to the Student Life Center (SLC) from the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. During events where the entrance is closed off, a building staff member will assist guests with disabilities to the elevator. The elevator provides access from the Event Level to the Mezzanine Level.
Emergency Exits
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center requests that all guests observe and become familiar with all emergency exit locations upon entering the building.
Exit and Re-entry
There is a no re-entry policy for all major ticketed events. Once guests enter the Gordon Field House and Activities Center for an event, they are not permitted to exit and re-enter the Gordon Field House and Activities Center for that same event. Only under emergency circumstances will a guest be permitted to re-enter the Gordon Field House and Activities Center, and prior to exiting, arrangements must be made with Gordon Field House and Activities Center personnel.
First Aid
A First Aid Room is located on the lower level, near the northwest Gordon Field House and Activities Center entrance.
Guest Conduct
To help make the Gordon Field House and Activities Center a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests, we request that all guests be courteous to those around them and abide by all building policies and regulations. Guests who do not conduct themselves in a proper manner and do not abide by building policies and regulations will be removed from the facility. Hitting, kicking, or throwing objects against the bleachers or inside the curtained area is prohibited. Spitting on the arena floor is also strictly prohibited.
Identification
Proper identification is required. All guests are required to check in upon entering the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. RIT Members may sponsor up to three additional guests per day.
Lost and Found
Guests should contact the RIT Public Safety Department at (585) 475-2853 or the Student Life Center Help Desk at (585) 475-2280 for assistance. RIT is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Minors
RIT expects parents or legal guardians to provide supervision over minors on campus at all times except when the minor is involved in a RIT-sponsored Program or a Program occurring on campus that is hosted by a Third Party.
Non-Compliance
Non-compliant individuals may be asked to leave the facility or have privileges suspended.
Parking
Accessible parking spaces are available in the Southeast corner of parking lot D.
Prohibited Items
Items that jeopardize the safety, viewing, listening pleasure or enjoyment of other guests are prohibited. In accordance with building policy and security guidelines, items not allowed into Gordon Field House and Activities Center include but are not limited to: alcoholic beverages, outside food or beverages, bottles or cans of any type, coolers, containers, weapons or firearms, fireworks, illegal substances, bullhorns, noisemakers, confetti, beach balls or other inflatable items, Frisbees, laser pointers, backpacks, large bags, large banners, sticks or poles, folding chairs, stools, skateboards, and roller blades, etc. RIT Public Safety and Gordon Field House and Activities Center management reserve the right to remove any items it deems a violation of its building policy and security guidelines. No check-in services are available for prohibited items.
Please note: Helium balloons are not allowed inside the venue due to the Reflected Beam Smoke Detection System; blockage of the beam will engage the fire alarm.
Restrooms
All public restrooms are equipped with accessible sinks, stalls, and amenities. There are four public restrooms throughout the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Two public restrooms are located at ground level and two more on the Mezzanine level. All public restrooms are accessible to guests in wheelchairs.
Security Searches and Metal Detectors
To help ensure the highest level of safety and security, all Gordon Field House and Activities Center guests, employees, and vendors are subject to security searches and a courtesy screening, which may include metal detection devices.
Service Animals
Service animals for guests with disabilities will be permitted inside the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Service animals must remain on a leash at all times.
Sign Interpreters
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center offers interpretive services at most events for guests with hearing disabilities. For concerts and other ticketed events, guests are encouraged to contact the Box Office to purchase tickets.
Solicitation
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center will not permit vending, soliciting, collecting contributions for any purpose, or the distribution of promotional materials on the premises unless approved by management.
Smoking
The Gordon Field House and Activities Center is a smoke-free facility. Guests are not permitted to smoke anywhere inside the building. There are no areas designated for smoking outside of the Gordon Field House and Activities Center.
Ticket Scalping
Ticket scalping – the resale of Gordon Field House and Activities Center admission tickets – is strictly prohibited on the premise. Violators of this policy will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
