The majority of the donation will support renovations to existing spaces in Max Lowenthal Hall, home of Saunders College. Classrooms and common learning spaces on the third floor will be renovated, as will a seminar room on the first floor.

While she’ll look back on the pandemic as a most challenging time, graduating new media design student Stephanie Liu also takes pride in knowing how well she rose to the occasion. RIT has an understated new name for a high-tech complex that will soon centralize the university’s makerspace and performing arts. RIT announced on Friday that the facility currently under construction will officially be called the Student Hall for Exploration and Development, or simply “the SHED.”
