Gustave Baumann

Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) immigrated to the United States from Germany as a child. He is best known for his color wood block prints, a technique he mastered after returning to Germany as an art student. For more than 50 years he lived in New Mexico, and his later work was heavily influenced by the vivid colors of the southwestern landscape.
