Hans Alexander Mueller

Printer-engraver Hans Alexander Mueller (1888-1962) studied at Leipzig Academy for the Graphic Arts and went on to teach woodcutting and engraving there. He illustrated books for Hamsun and Robert Louis Stevenson, including Treasure Island and Don Quixote. Before World War II, he emigrated to the United States where he continued to work as a woodcut illustrator.
