Jacques Hnizdovsky
Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915-1985) was born in Ukraine and studied art in Warsaw and Zagreb. He had an early interest in woodcut, particularly those of Dürer and the Japanese. He was widely exhibited and won numerous awards. His work is held by the National Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art, among many others. He died in New York City in 1985.
