Joyce Goode
Joyce Good graduated from the Art and Design program at RIT in 1974. She is a fabric and color driven artist who focuses in abstract and quilted wall hangings. Her work focuses on the improvisational use of fabrics that she dyes, paints, silkscreens, and monoprints herselSome of her works are large singular pieces. The excitement of these pieces lies in the process of taking a piece of fabric and developing it with painting, or printing, other fabrics and stitching. The result is Goode's unique expressionAnother part of her artwork is interpretations of traditional quilt patterns. These patterns have been tried and found true for many years by many quilters before her. She seeks to understand these patterns, then break them apart and reassemble them in a way that makes a new composition.
