Lawrence Williams
Lawrence Williams is known for his extensive and expansive installations, sculpture, and drawings. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and received his MFA from the University of Illinois. Williams was a professor at RIT until he retired in 1996. In 2002 he was the recipient of the Fairchild Award for his sculpture “Sledges and Piers: Water and Ice.” His work is part of the permanent collections of a number of museums and galleries, including the Memorial Art Gallery, the Allan Stone Gallery, and the Everson Museum of Art.
