Robert Schmitz

Robert Schmitz works primarily with ceramics, focusing mostly on pottery and kiln building. He created the tiles for the Color Cube, which was commissioned by RIT benefactor Elizabeth Hunter in memory of her husband, a color scientist. Schmitz was a professor at RIT's School for American Crafts, and has also taught at the University of Maryland and Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University).
