Tony L. McGregor

Tony L. McGregor, often called “Tony Mac”, is a nationally renowned Deaf artist. He was very interested in art as a child and attended Gallaudet University and then the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Masters in Education, and a Ph.D. in multicultural special education with an emphasis on museum studies.McGregor helped establish the National Association of the Native American Deaf, which is now called the Intertribal Deaf Council. He is known for his work that incorporates both ASL/Deaf culture and Southwestern themed art, particularly his wood-burned gourds.
