The RIT Battery Development Center (BDC) is a state-of-the-art research and rapid prototyping and testing facility focused on the development and qualification of emerging energy storage technologies through a partnership between NY-Battery Energy and Storage Technologies (NY-BEST) and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

The BDC has combined the resources and expertise of the RIT Battery Prototyping Center (RIT BPC) and the Best Test and Commercialization Center (BTCC) into an integrated end-to-end service for the battery industry.

The BDC is a connected center for development, testing, and commercialization of emerging energy storage technologies. The BDC leads the advancement and commercialization of cutting-edge energy storage technologies through collaborative research, rapid prototyping, and comprehensive testing services, fostering innovation and sustainability.
