Bio
Dr. Daqing "DQ" Hou is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Software Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). His research focuses on Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Education, particularly on improving software development processes. Supported by multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) awards, DQ’s work in Project-based Learning (PjBL) and Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) advances innovative approaches in both education and research.
At RIT, where experiential learning and cooperative education (co-op) are core to the curriculum, DQ aims to integrate these methods into teaching. His emphasis on hands-on, real-world learning ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the software engineering industry.
