education began with his assignment in the US Air Force as an instructor in the Meteorology program at the Air Force Academy. In addition to teaching, he also took on the role of advising first-year cadets assisting them in their transition to life at the Academy.  Joe graduated from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire with a BS in Meteorology where he was commissioned in the Air Force and began his 20-year career as a weather officer. While serving, he was selected to attend the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA to get his MS degree in Meteorology. Joe retired from active duty in 2023 and moved to New York with his family and started teaching an online meteorology course as an adjunct with Onondaga Community College. In 2024, he was excited to join the Software Engineering department as an academic advisor.
