Jacobs recieves Tourism Achievement Award
Stephen Jacobs, professor in RIT’s School of Interactive Games and Media and director of Open@RIT, received the 2024 Tourism Achievement Award from Visit Rochester during a ceremony Oct. 30. The award recognizes individuals who are champions for the local tourism community by helping to bring events to the area and promoting Rochester as a great destination for meetings and conventions.

RIT professor proposes new way to make artificial intelligence smarter and greener
The brain is a great source of inspiration for Alexander Ororbia, an assistant professor of computer science and cognitive science at RIT. By mimicking how neurons in the brain learn, Ororbia is working to make artificial intelligence more powerful and energy efficient. His research was recently published in the journal Science Advances.
