Enrollment open now for courses that offer an accelerated degree path
A new offering in cybersecurity from Rochester Institute of Technology was one of 16 new MicroMasters programs announced today by edX.
This is RIT’s second offering of a MicroMasters, credit-eligible, career-relevant programs that are free to try and can help advance careers and offer a pathway to an accelerated master’s program. The first, a MicroMasters in project management, was announced in September.
The cybersecurity MicroMasters is a five-module, 40-week program that leads to a MicroMasters credential. The first offering begins March 21. The full program includes modules in Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Computer Forensics, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Network Security and a Cybersecurity Capstone. Learners can apply to RIT for the master’s degree in computing security, the advanced certificate in information assurance or the master’s degree professional studies. They may be awarded nine credit hours towards their degree requirements—making up nearly one third of a master’s program.
