Major: Imaging Science Ph.D.
Ph.D. candidate within the DIRS laboratory. Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2013 and is finishing his Ph.D. work in the 2018-2019 year. His area of expertise lies in passive optical imaging and algorithm development with his dissertation work focusing on the use of physical models and spectral imagery to extract information about water quality and harmful algal blooms. Ryan has also had the opportunity to study atmospheric compensation and haze removal during an internship with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
