- Celebrating Black Heritage Month at RIT in February
Creativity, cuisine, comedy and conversation. These are just some of the things you’ll find as RIT celebrates Black Heritage Month.
Learn more about cooking soul food with the RIT Alumni Association’s virtual event, American Cuisine: Soul Food with Adrian Miller. Back by popular demand, the James Beard Award-winning food writer and certified barbeque judge will share his knowledge of the history of soul food on February 9th.
Last year he was on campus and his demonstrations and his dishes were big hits. This year’s virtual event begins at 5:30pm. You can register here View Facebook event
One of our other highlights is RIT’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion and Center for Campus Life, in partnership with the Black Awareness Coordinating Committee presents stand-up comedian Ian Lara as he brings his show to RIT virtually beginning at 6pm on February 25th. Lara has been seen on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and his special is currently streaming on HBO.
We are excited to share more events going on during Black Heritage Month.
