Announcing Your Generative AI Faculty Fellows

I am happy to announce that two new Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) Faculty Fellows, in the strategic priority area of Generative AI will be joining us – Shaun Foster and Clark Hochgraf.

Both individuals bring a diverse and practical skills set that will help RIT navigate generative AI as it relates to teaching and learning.

CTL Advisory Council

The CTL Advisory Council is a collective group of faculty, administrators and student government leaders whose purpose is to provide guidance and advocate for the development needs of faculty as they relate to teaching and learning at RIT.

Counselors help the CTL navigate changes in the higher education landscape and often bring with them many years of teaching experience, as is often recognized by RIT and national awards that recognize their teaching excellence. The Council is responsible for encouraging innovation within the CTL while helping it maintain a contemporary understanding of faculty needs. It is also responsible for the selection of the CTL’s Faculty Fellows.

Call for Spring Teaching Circle Proposals

A teaching circle is a small group of faculty and teaching staff who come together for one term to discuss a teaching and learning topic that they can delve deeply into over several sessions. Facilitators may offer their circle in an on-campus space, via Zoom, or a combination. 

Proposals due by January 2, 2024. Applicants will be notified on a rolling basis.

This in-person workshop will focus on discussing and developing ways in which instructors can make the tacit and often more troublesome characteristics of their discipline's knowledge more transparent, accessible, and usable for our students.

Are you teaching in the SHED in the Spring semester? Hear from past SHED instructors, learn about teaching in the space, practice active learning “super sized”, and test out the technology and features of the rooms.

Zoom now allows for a specialized Sign Language Interpreter Role with dedicated video feed. Participants have a more flexible view of the interpreter during the meeting and in cloud recordings.
