Academic Advising
RIT’s advisors are available to support you through your academic journey. Your primary academic advisor will partner with you as you take responsibility for your learning, making decisions that will positively advance your personal, educational, and professional goals.
Your primary academic advisor will be assigned in early July. Once they are assigned, you will be able to view their information in the Student Information System (SIS). Your advisor and academic department will begin building your fall schedule in late July, which you will be able to view in early August. You’ll have time during Orientation to meet your advisor and ask questions about your fall schedule before classes begin. If your advisor has questions related to planning and placement for fall courses, they will reach out to you. Please remember to check your RIT email regularly as communications may be time sensitive.
