Saunders College of Business teaches students essential business skills and functions necessary for success in our ever-changing world. Saunders offers both finance and accounting degrees that feature paid co-op experiences employers seek and teach students to become expert financial professionals and decision-makers.

A bachelor’s in finance or accounting from Saunders is unique because it incorporates the newest technology and innovation, and offers state-of-the-art resources and facilities. Both degrees are dynamic and lead graduates to succeed in a wide variety of industries.

Saunders also offers minors that let students specialize and explore specific industries of interest. Some of these minors include business analytics, hospitality management management, and information systems.

Students in finance and accounting majors have the opportunity to:

  • Study in the business analytics lab, featuring Bloomberg terminals, the latest software for financial analytics, and accounting information systems.
  • Gain paid, real-world experience before graduation with one of the most extensive cooperative education programs globally. RIT places more than 4,500 students with over 6,200 co-op assignments each year.
  • Compete annually against northeast schools in the annual Adirondack Cup Competition, creating a small-cap portfolio for six months.
  • Participate in the annual accounting career fair and accounting banquet which connects students with mentors and employers in person.
  • Engage with the Next Generation of Accountants (NGA) chapter and network with professionals from the Big Four.
  • Join the Financial Management Association club, advancing student-centric investing while managing a $200,000+ Stock and ETF investment portfolio.
  • Get hired into positions such as an accountant, auditor, financial specialist, financial advisor, and more.
  • Network with successful devoted alumni, dedicated professors, and driven peers.
  • Participate in more than 320 student clubs and organizations.
  • Receive institute scholarships in addition to state and federal financial aid.
