Accomplishments from Saunders Students

  • Wilson Huang ‘23 (finance and MIS) will join Cisco as a financial analyst after graduating in May 2023.
  • Students in the strategic management course taught by Clyde Eirikur Hull, Ph.D., formed six teams and participated in the Capsim Capstone simulation. Over two thousand teams competed worldwide; every team at Saunders placed within the top 5%, and more than one team placed in the top 1%.
  • Chimdi Okoye ‘23 (MIS), Nika Pikulik ‘23 (hospitality), Lucia Stroligo ‘23 (international business), and Brittney Teed ‘23 (accounting) were members of a GLO-BUS team that placed within the top 100 worldwide. GLO-BUS is an online competition that simulates a company where student teams must formulate a strategy that establishes a respected brand image, generates profit, and keeps the company competitive.
  • Max Mekker ‘24 (accounting) received the Financial Executives International scholarship award from the Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International. Each year, the chapter recognizes top scholars who are nominated by faculty from local post-secondary institutions who study accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Zachary Nicoletti ‘23 (MBA) will join the L3Harris Technologies team in Rochester, NY as a senior program manager after graduating in May 2023.

Saunders Faculty and Staff Go Above and Beyond

  • Joy Olabisi, Ph.D., associate professor of management, and Zhi Tang, Ph.D., professor of management, published the paper “Stakeholder Transformation Process: The Journey of an Indigenous Community” in the Journal of Business Ethics. This paper was accepted into the Honor Roll of Responsible Research and Business Management, a publication that features rigorous, scholarly articles that create a positive impact on society.
  • Clyde Eirikur Hull, Ph.D., professor of management, won the Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching, the most prestigious teaching award offered by RIT. The award recognizes faculty who excel not only in teaching but in demonstrating faculty leadership, thorough knowledge of their discipline, and enhancing the student experience.

  • Robert Loud ‘17 (accounting) accepted a new job as a development project manager at Rochester’s Cornerstone Group, as recognized by the Rochester Business Journal.
  • David Frishkorn ‘95 (MBA) has published his second book, “The Great Reimagination: In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union.”

  • Nika Pikulik and other hospitality and tourism management students created a pop-up lunch with a Ukrainian theme to honor her native country and relatives admist the war with Russia.
  • RIT recently surpassed its $1 billion campaign goal that funded the Saunders expansion.
  • Clyde Eirikur Hull was recognized by RIT as a PI millionaire for receiving over $1 million in research funding over the fiscal year.
  • Saunders College of Business moved up two spots in Poets&Quants national rankings, fueled by high placement in career outcomes for graduates.

Sharpen the Saw

Over 80 Executive MBA Alumni convened on RIT Campus for their annual exclusive event, Sharpen the Saw. They celebrated the very first EMBA class, and listened to a range of topics from AI at work to effective generational communication and developing their teams, themselves and the local economy. The day concluded with dinner at Max's and a surprise operatic performance to commemorate the Executive MBA’s 30th anniversary. Check out photos from Sharpen The Saw, provided by Julia Pham.
