Meet the Mentors

Performing Arts is abundant all over campus. RIT's faculty and staff (including those outside of the College of Liberal Arts) have a variety of performing arts interests ranging from bagpipes to bluegrass and stage design to dance. Our mentors are available for you to contact if you have a particular question or if you have an interest in learning more about their performing arts experiences. Gary Jacobs
Assistant Professor
School of Design, College of Art and Design
Areas of Interest: Stage and Entertainment Design, Projection Design for Live Performance

Gary Jacobs is an Assistant Professor in 3D Digital Design in CAD.
His background is in Stage and Entertainment Design, but he has worked in Architecture, Theatre, Museums and Theme Parks for over 20 years. Many of his 3D students are Performing Arts Scholars, and he loves engaging in their passions and blending skills. Gary has a passion for projection design for live performance and hopes to create some courses in that realm for any interested students. He's worked with Andy Head on She Kills Monsters during Covid, and will work with Thomas Warfield on AstroDance this semester.
