RIT's Brick City
Homecoming and Family Weekend

Former Saturday Night Live cast member Melissa Villaseñor and Hank Green, an internet icon, are scheduled to appear at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend in October. Additionally, many events, including several for RIT’s individual colleges, are scheduled during the weekend for the more than 145,000 RIT alumni and their families, as well as current RIT students, faculty, staff, and retirees.

Tigers Connect is an innovative platform exclusively for RIT students and alumni. Forge meaningful connections, share expertise, and mentor others in our tight-knit community. Alumni users can specify their employer, industry, graduation year, and affiliations with campus clubs, organizations, and athletic teams, while students can input majors, interests, post questions to alumni experts, seek volunteer opportunities, and request mentoring. Both user groups can also identify themselves as deaf, hard-of-hearing, or hearing!

Campus Spotlight

College of Science Dean André Hudson addresses the crowd that gathered for the 40th anniversary celebration of the Munsell Color Science Lab on June 15. RIT alumni, current and former students, faculty, staff, and supporters and friends of the lab were invited to honor its history and accomplishments. Other presenters included Michael Murdoch MS '06, lab director, former lab director Mark Fairchild BS '86, MS '86 and others.

Kailee Polimeni BS '16, ME '18 and Trevor Crandell BS '13, MS '19 got married in August 2022. They're both RIT graduates. The newlyweds got married in Oneida, NY surrounded by family members and fellow RIT alumni.

Richard V. Tantalo BS ’78 was appointed to serve as the Director of Public Safety for the County of Monroe in 2020. This agency has oversight of 12 Divisions that provide public safety services to our community. Director Tantalo retired in 2020 as the Chief of Police of the Irondequoit Police Dept.

Jordanne Ringwald BS '09 recently celebrated her 2nd anniversary as founder of Risus Talent Partners (Rtp). Since Jordanne founded the company with her two business partners, they have placed over 600 employees in key positions throughout the Northeast. Jordanne has partnered with many RIT alumni on both the client and job seeker side.
