James Hammer donates $1 million to establish Hammer Family Packaging and Graphic Media Center at RIT
The Hammer Family Packaging and Graphic Media Center will consist of several laboratories focused on materials testing, distribution, digital processing, and workflow analysis for packaging and commercial printing.

RIT recognized by Veterans Outreach Center for workforce training program initiative
Veterans Outreach Center honored Rochester Institute of Technology, Foodlink, and the CHS Mobile Integrated Health teams this week with its annual Service Provider Awards. The ceremony, held at the local center, recognized the groups’ contributions in the areas of employment, food and living resources, and medical services for area veterans.

The School of Media Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology will change its name to the Department of Graphic Media Science and Technology. The change is effective immediately.

S. Manian Ramkumar named dean of RIT’s College of Engineering Technology
Ramkumar, an RIT alumnus and former faculty member, had been serving as interim dean and was named to the permanent position following a national search. He assumes the permanent dean’s role immediately and said he intends to continue the college’s focus on producing highly talented, applied engineers and applied scientists who will make a difference.

Mahany Welding Supply donates equipment to College of Engineering Technology
Mahany Welding Supply donated two gas metal arc welding cells and two gas tungsten arc welding cells to be used within an advanced manufacturing degree program in RIT’s College of Engineering Technology to provide needed workforce skills.
