Automation Control Systems Lab

The Automation Control Systems Lab is an academic teaching space for the department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology's Automation Control Systems course, as well as the Production Systems Design and Production Systems Development courses for the manufacturing student senior project. Automation includes the technologies that reduce the need for humans to intervene with an industrial process. With the use of control systems, machinery, and sensors, automated systems achieve labor savings, increase safety, and reduce waste, all while improving quality, accuracy and precision. This lab also remains the home for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) annual project. The core equipment in this lab includes:

• HM Cross Conveyor System

• Allen Bradly – Rockwell Automation Programmable Logic Controllers

• Human Machine Interface devices including touch screens, sensors, and switches
