Joe Alfieri is the President of the Space and Defense Group and an Officer of Moog Inc. In this capacity, Joe is accountable for the Space, Defense, and Power and Data Divisions, with total revenues exceeding $950 million and employing more than 3,400 people globally. Space and Defense has principal manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom, and Australia. By leveraging expertise in critical components and systems, we provide extraordinary control solutions for our Space and Defense customers. Moog Space Division technology has been to every planet in our solar system, supporting civil, commercial, and national security space missions. Moog Defense Division is recognized by military forces around the world for its industry-leading solutions, which include turreted weapon systems, counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), fast ammunition handling, precise missile steering, weapon stores management and quiet undersea actuation. The Power and Data Division is an innovative provider of power and data transfer solutions, motion control, and signal conversion products. Our Space and Defense high-performance solutions and sustainment services are available across air, land, sea, and space platforms.
Joe joined Moog in 2008 as a Project Engineer in Moog’s Space and Defense Group. After initially working as a Project Engineer, Joe spent time as a Sales Engineer, Program Manager, and Commercial Space Business Manager all within Moog’s Space and Defense Group. In 2014, Joe went on assignment to the Corporate Group as a Program Director focused on Compliance and Legal initiatives and then advanced to Moog’s Aircraft Group as Program Director of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program within the Military Sector. In 2019, Joe was promoted to Commercial OE Sector General Manager, and in 2020 was appointed Group Vice President. In 2021, Joe joined the Industrial Group to lead Moog’s new startup venture focused on the construction market. As Group Vice President & General Manager of Moog’s Construction business unit, Joe focused on accelerating electrification, automation, and connectivity by enabling the world’s safest, most sustainable, and most productive machines.
Prior to joining Moog, Joe was an Operations Supervisor at UPS Air Logistics, a Manufacturing Engineer at Delphi Automotive, and an Electrical Design Engineer and Project Manager at Illinois Tool Works (ITW).
Joe has an MBA from University at Buffalo, Master’s degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from RIT.
