SD-CoMETS Scholars - Jade Nguyen

I’m majoring in electrical engineering technology. I chose this major because my family really encouraged me to choose a field such as medicine or engineering. I ultimately chose engineering because I like fiddling around with tools and programs and creating things. I see myself in an engineering field but more specifically a test engineer.

I graduated high school, I am a black belt in karate, and I was one of many teen artists who won a place in an art gallery. And that I spent and survive 4 years in an engineering program (P-Tech) during high school.

I am Asian American and my favorite fruit is guava! I studied art as a child and continue to do it to this day. I was an athlete, playing multiple different sports like basketball, volleyball, karate and track. I also like editing and making weird pictures.

I think that the SD-CoMETS scholarship will make me more responsible in a way since most of our lectures or classes are about getting help when needed. Also managing your time and studying when necessary, or even how to study.
