SD-CoMETS Scholars - Katharine Infante

Hi! My name is Katharine Infante and I’m from San Antonio, Texas and I am majoring in Civil Engineering Technology. I chose this major because I want to help improve the world and the first step of doing that is through the drafting and planning of engineering. I want to help make the world a better place environmentally and physically and engineering is the basis for that.

Being an SD-COMETS scholar will help me through the process of adjusting and furthering my education in all ways possible. I attended Highlands High School and graduated within the top 2% of my class. I was a part of the Go Green Environmental club, Academic Decathlon, and the ACE mentor program. Within the ACE Mentor Program, I worked on projects with Engineering companies as well as top engineers. This is what pushed me to pursue more within the field as well as accomplishing my goal of being a Civil Engineer. I plan to make connections, memories, and educational achievements here at my time at RIT and I’m so glad to be a part of this program!
