SD-CoMETS Scholars - Samantha Morgan
I’m majoring in Civil Engineering Technology. I chose CET because I loved the hands-on element. I want to be out in the field putting into practice what I learn in the classroom. I am also a kinesthetic learner and find it best when being shown how to do something rather than explained through words.
Being an SD-CoMETS Scholar will help me to make connections and understand my major more, as well as what I can do after college and what I can bring to my major/to improve my learning experience.
Outside of school, I love to read, draw, and play video games. One of my favorite hobbies is collecting pins/stickers! I really enjoy nature as well and being outside (and pretty much all animals), which plays a part in why I picked my major. I interned at Eagle Creek Renewable Energy over the summer and fell in love with water resource/dam safety, so that is what I want to do moving forward. At RIT, I am involved in many clubs outside of academics such as; Encore A Capella, Concrete Canoe, ASCE, Intramural Ultimate Frisbee, Beekeeping, WIT, Engineering House, and I also have a job on campus!
