SD-CoMETS Scholars - Misty Lindholm

My goals for university are to maintain good grades, join the RIT Tech Crew, get involved, and help others where I can. In the future, I want to be able to help people with whatever it is that I design/make; I am not sure yet what career path this will lead me down.

I enjoy designing things. Some of my hobbies are sketching, writing, singing, reading, and playing puzzle games. Although I enjoy mathematics and value logical thinking, I think that it is important to stay well rounded and get involved in the arts, so I make sure to practice my creative thinking. This encourages me to think outside of the box when necessary.

SD CoMETS has allowed me to make good friends with my fellow females in engineering. We have shared our struggles and encouraged each other to keep moving forward or to even take a break. Being a part of SD CoMETs has also given me amazing mentors that reach out to me and guide me when I am lost in a large workload and overwhelmed. I am very grateful for this scholarship and the people who are a part of this wonderful group.
