In your lifetime almost every single one of you will know or be related to someone with heart disease. This is because heart disease and stroke remain the #1 health threat in the United States, affecting approximately 1 million Americans each year. With the current COVID-19 global pandemic, heart disease and stroke puts our family and friends even at greater risk.

Despite this unprecedented crisis, RIT is joining the fight against heart disease and stroke by participating in the American Heart Association’s Rochester VIRTUAL Heart Walk & Run 2020 (MOVE where you are). We have supported this event for more than 15 years! I am encouraging you to get involved in this important cause with the RIT Tigers Team. The event will take place virtually on June 20, 2020.

The Heart Walk and Run is not only a great way to get involved in your community virtually, but it is also a lot of fun! You can walk or run at any time during the day on June 20th. You will be able to check in and follow social media to hear from community leaders and inspiring survivors. You can register for the RIT Tigers Team at: https://www2.heart.org/site/TR/HeartWalk/FDA-FoundersAffiliate?team_id=…

Thank you for supporting RIT as we work together and make a difference in our community! Your involvement is appreciated and commended. If you have any questions, please contact Dana Pelliccia at: dpelliccia@saunders.rit.edu or 585-475-2176.

Thank you for your participation in advance. See you online!
