BME Career Seminar Series: biomedical Engineering in Surgical Robotics
Event Image
learn more about how the Mako Orthopaedic Surgical Robot is designed and used. The device enables robotic-arm assisted surgery which provides several advantages to manual surgery: pre-operative planning, better intra-operative visualization, advanced ligament balancing guidance, improved accuracy and reproducibility, and data-driven implant placement confirmation. The presentation features Kelly Dunn '16 (biomedical engineering) biomechanics system engineer with Stryker Mako. He designs different components of the system and will discuss its development and applications.
