Homemade with Al Behadili
Celebrating her Iraqi heritage, Hiba Al Behadili will prepare dolmas (grape leaves filled with rice and meat) during an online cooking demonstration hosted by the Rochester Public Library. Hiba, who worked as an engineer before settling with her family in Rochester, is the community health coordinator for Refugees Helping Refugees, a food blogger, and a recent graduate of MCC’s Culinary Arts program. Follow her on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram at @chef_shahrazad.
This program is the result of SOIS faculty member Hannah Davis's research on refugee and newcomer foodways in Rochester. This work is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
