Tiger Tales: Story Time for Young Children -- Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend
This special weekend storytime features stories celebrating diversity and focused on acceptance and compassion. Exposing children to literature that presents people of different cultures in a positive light and celebrates their diversity is one simple first step to creating better citizens and a just society. We will be reading two to three specially curated books, sharing songs/fingerplays, and providing a simple activity. This event is FREE and open to the entire RIT community and the general public. Content is geared to children ages 1-5; all ages are welcome. Click here to learn more about Tiger Tales.
We proudly feature Luane Haggerty, Principal Lecturer for NTID's Department of Performing Arts, with the Dangerous Signs performance group and RIT students as our guest readers. They will be leading a Deaf-Centered Storytime. Children will begin by trying out gesturing to experience a step toward communicating through sign language. The readers will interpret the story as it is read and the children will be invited to help act out a story as a concluding activity. Don't miss this experience with exposure to ASL, signing, and mime!
Tiger Tales will be located in The SHED, Room 4350. This event is part of Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. Learn more here.
