Nancy started her internal audit career as a graduate assistant in the internal audit department at Binghamton University.  After graduating with an MS in Accounting, Nancy worked first as a public accountant and then as an internal auditor in a variety of industries, including retail, health care, and manufacturing. In 2006, she returned to the education sector, working in the internal audit department at the Rochester Institute of Technology where she currently holds the position of Associate Director.

During her over 30 years in the audit profession, Nancy has developed and fine-tuned her risk assessment (including developing a fundamental understanding of information security risks) and auditing skillsets.   She works closely with all levels of staff and management, making recommendations to improve internal controls and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.  Nancy also provides training to university community members on unit level risk assessment.  In 2016, Nancy obtained her Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
