Capacity Building: Newborn Transport Begins

Starting in August 2024, newborns in need of critical cardiac care are being transported from Hospital Escuela to Hospital Maria, a specialty hospital in Tegucigalpa Honduras via the ambulance donated by RIT Hope for Honduras. This  partnership and transport by the Honduran Red Cross is a part of a capacity building phase to evaluate the vehicle performance, provision of care and develop protocol before beginning long distance transports from rural regions.
