We look forward to helping you get re-settled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Move-In Dates

Returning students are not required to make an appointment time in order to pick up their housing keys. These students should plan to arrive in parking lot C, then proceed to 1400 Grace Watson Hall during any of the dates and times listed below where RIT Housing staff will be available to assist them.

The housing office will be open during the hours below to assist with current student move-in.
 

  • August 20 - 24: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (subject to change)
  • August 25: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (subject to change)

 

Pre-Arrival to Campus

Don’t leave home without a photo ID!

You must have a photo ID in order to be issued your RIT housing key.

Pre-arrival checklist
  • Photo ID

Access your room assignment, roommate information, meal plan, and mailing address under My Assignment in the myLife portal. All move-in information can be found by clicking on the My Move-In icon from the My Assignment page.

Arrival

Check-In and Key Pick Up

Important Information
  • You must have a photo ID in order to be issued your RIT Housing key.
Key Pick Up Location
  • Residence Hall, Global Village, and Apartment assigned students will check-in and pick-up their keys in Grace Watson Hall.
  • RIT Inn students will check-in and pick up their key at the front desk of the RIT Inn.
  • 175 Jefferson students will check-in and pick up their key at the front desk of 175 Jefferson.
  • *Global Village 405 students can proceed to their assignment and complete a self-check in. 
    • *If you are assigned to Global Village 405, you have keyless entry with your RIT ID card. You will receive an email prior to your arrival with instructions on how to complete a self check-in needed to gain entry to the building.

    Late Arrivals

    If you experience travel difficulties on the day of your appointment that impact your ability to arrive during your appointment time and arrive after 6 p.m., Please check in at the RIT Housing office located in Grace Watson Hall. If you arrive after 11 p.m., you will be required to locate alternative housing for the night at a local hotel. 

    Move-in

    Students living in the Residence Halls, Global Village, and Apartments:

    • Please have your photo-ID ready to present to RIT Housing staff at the time of your appointment.
    • Park in lot C, then proceed to Grace Watson Hall (GWH). You will pick up your housing key at the RIT Housing main office located in 1400 GWH.
    • Once you check in and pick up your housing key, you will exit Lot C and proceed to your assigned location (see campus map). 
    Important Information
    • Students do not need to be completely moved in before the end of their appointment time.
    • Carts will be available at Grace Watson Hall, Global Village, and at the RIT Inn.
