Debra Humphreys to discuss T-shaped competencies
AAC&U senior VP offers recommendations on curriculum reform and workforce readiness
Rochester Institute of Technology welcomes keynote speaker Debra Humphreys, senior vice president of Academic Planning and Public Engagement at the Association of American Colleges and Universities, to discuss curricular reform and competency-based higher education to cultivate T-shaped professionals.
Her talk, “Building Curricular and Co-Curricular Pathways to T-Competencies,” will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Gosnell Hall’s auditorium.
As part of AAC&U’s campaign, “Liberal Education and America’s Promise: Excellence for Everyone as a Nation Goes to College,” Humphreys has been working with higher education institutions to improve guided curricular pathways and educational environments where students gain the essential learning outcomes for long-term success in a global society.
The event, sponsored by RIT’s Office of the Provost, Student Affairs and Co-op & Career Services, builds on RIT’s Strategic Plan “Greatness through Difference” to provide future graduates with T-shaped skills that will enable them to achieve workforce readiness.
