The K-12 University Center at Rochester Institute of Technology administers the Science and Technology Entry Program in collaboration with schools in Greece and Rush-Henrietta central school districts, Rochester City School District, and Vertus and Rochester Prep charter high schools. Funded by the New York State Education Department, RIT STEP serves more than 300 youth annually.
Program Overview
The purpose of STEP is to increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students prepared to enter college, and improve their participation rate in various fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Program services include academic enrichment, college and career readiness experiences, counseling, FIRST robotics, hands-on research opportunities, job and college shadow opportunities, mentoring, standardized test preparation, science fairs, summer programs, tutoring and more.
