Job Summary:
Provide C-Print captioning in the class room, Assist Captioned Media Specialist with captioning media and managing media requests, and assist Disability Coordinators with case management.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an Associate's degree in appropriate field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities.
Completion of the C-Print online training program offered by RIT http://www.rit.edu/ntid/cprint/ and experience using C-Print Pro software.
Experience transcribing audio and using video editing software.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required:
Experience working in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform work
Ability to type minimum of 65 wpm with no more than minor errors, ability to learn new software/hardware, excellent attention to detail, ability to organize and complete projects in a timely manner and work under strict deadlines, ability to listen and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. High degree of listening comprehension and ability to process and capture critical ideas while typing notes in a college classroom. Excellent customer services skills.
Physical Demands
Sitting long periods in front of computer, ability to carry C-Print equipment a moderate distance from class to class
Work Hours
30 hours per week between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
